Mid-semester Feedback
Georgia Southern University and the University of Georgia offer instructors the opportunity to have an independent formative assessments conducted with their students. At both schools this process is optional, and requests for these assessments must initially come from the instructors. Since I became aware of these independent assessments, I have regularly requested that they be conducted in my courses.
Georgia Southern University
The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) offers instructors two forms of mid-term student feedback: Feedback surveys and Small Group Instructional Diagnosis (SGID). The process for requesting these assessments and the processes for both can be viewed HERE. This semester, my first at Georgia Southern University, I requested SGIDs for both of my courses. Below are the reports that I have received from the CTE evaluator:
- SGID (Facility & Event Management, Fall 2018) – Undergraduate
- SGID (Sports Business Operations, Fall 2018) – Undergraduate
University of Georgia
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) offers professors and instructors (of record) the opportunity to have an independent, mid-semester formative evaluation (MSFE) conducted with their students. During the MSFE process, the professor/instructor leaves the classroom, as a representative from CTL facilitates the evaluation. A detailed outline of the process can be viewed HERE. Below are the reports that I received after MSFEs were conducted in my courses:
- MSFE (Social Aspects of Sport, Fall 2015) – Undergraduate
